Vehicle measuring device / OBD2 Tester
Vehicle OBD2 diagnostic tester for almost all vehicles from 1996 / reading out error codes and live data / data as a column of numbers or graphics / 2.4-inch graphic display
The more innovative a car is, the more technology it has on board. If malfunctions occur, the driver receives an error message via the on-board computer. Not necessarily always though, the warning light is an indication of some serious problem in the background. Behind the error messages, there are often harmless reasons such as loose sensor plugs or contact problems. The driver therefore does not necessarily have to go to a workshop immediately. In order to be able to find out by yourself what the problem is, PCE Instruments has designed an OBD2 test device. The abbreviation OBD stands for on-board diagnosis, a diagnostic system integrated in the vehicle. Since the beginning of the 2000s, almost all models have been equipped with an OBD2 interface. The diagnosis is divided into different areas. This includes sensor diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, actuator diagnostics, component diagnostics and system diagnostics. Due to the OBD system, e.g. the engine damages can be prevented because the emergency programs are activated when the errors happen. Repairs and maintenance are also simplified with the application of the OBD, since troubleshooting is much facilitated then. The OBD2 test device thus provides guaranteed even for the inexperienced users a simple and reliable application during troubleshooting.
With the user-friendly OBD2 test device from PCE Instruments, the error codes of many common vehicles can be read out. The OBD2 tester provides an extensive sensor information about all the important sensors of the engine control. By reading out the error memory with the help of the OBD2 tester, the user can recognize the problems early enough and prevent major difficulties. To start the troubleshooting, the user must first connect the OBD2 tester to the car. The OBD-2 connector is usually positioned under the dashboard, often near the steering wheel. In order to be able to connect the OBD2 test device to the vehicle, the manufacturer has equipped it with an 80 cm long cable. Via it, the OBD2 test device can be conveniently connected to the vehicle. The OBD2 test device is supplied with energy via the on-board voltage supply. The device does not require any additional voltage, so batteries are unnecessary. Now the troubleshooting can begin. The OBD2 test device reads-out the errors quickly and effectively. The OBD2 test device shows the recorded data easily readable on the TFT display.
Since the error code tables are already stored in the OBD2 test device at the factory, the measuring device displays many errors as a plain text. This eliminates the annoying decryption of the error codes. This feature also makes the application of the OBD2 tester easy even for the laymen. Using the OBD2 test device, the determined error codes can be easily deleted on request. The OBD2 test device is operated via five buttons. In order to keep the OBD2 test device always up to date, the updates can easily be done via the PC.
Application Areas for OBD2 Tester
The user-friendly OBD2 test device is suitable for an application in almost all the vehicles manufactured from 1996, provided an OBD interface is available. No special intervals are specified for vehicle diagnostics. However, if an indicator light appears on the dashboard, it is time to read out the vehicle’s error memory. The compact and handy shape of the OBD2 test device guarantees its flexible, location-independent use. The OBD2 test device from PCE Instruments is ideally suited for the application in the vehicle workshops, companies with a fleet and for the experts. Due to its uncomplicated and simple handling, the OBD2 test device is also ideal for use in a private sector.
The automotive tester PCE-OBD 10 is a high-quality OBD reader for many common vehicles. This professional car measuring device is a “standalone” reader and therefore requires no accessories. The automotive tester is connected via the OBD II connection of the vehicle. The applied on-board voltage supply is sufficient for the vehicle measuring device for operation. Thus, no additional power supply for operating the vehicle meter, such as batteries, is needed. In order to keep the vehicle measuring device up to date, updates via the PC are possible. The data read out are displayed directly on the TFT display. Since error code tables are already stored in the vehicle measuring instrument, many errors are displayed as plain text. With this feature, combined with the ease of use with five buttons, this OBD motor diagnostic scanner is also suitable for any layman in this area.
